Hi, I'm Francesca
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Rome, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Relocating to Italy wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far greater.
The first months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, elevated expectations. Routine tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt secure.
Why I Created BrightGroveTide
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical know-how from residing in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Italy continues, and the learning process goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Francesca
